Senior Structural Engineer (offshore/ maritime environment)

Our client is an international renewable energy company with a unique, commercially efficient system for extracting energy from renewable energy sources and converting it to electricity. Due to further secured funding and a successful pilot launch they are now looking to commercialise this highly promising new technology.
A core part of their business is its technology, part of which is the self developed turbine and electronic control system. To support the final stages of the commercialisation of this exciting technology they are now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer will be a crucial part of the Engineering Team.
This role will hold overall responsibility over modelling, analysis, and design of existing offshore energy generating structures, as well as any technical improvements to these structures. In particular, you will spearhead the analysis of extreme impulse and fatigue loading of structures as well as play a crucial part in assisting in the conceptual development and screening of new structurally related ideas pertaining to this exciting technology. Furthermore you will write reports and design studies as well as lead the contract management of vendors and suppliers.
To be successful in this role, you need to have at least 10 years post graduate (Structural/Mechanical Engineering) experience in an Engineering role. Past experience with CAD and/or other related software is essential as well as proficiency in report writing. Experience in the renewable energy sector is desirable, as is offshore design experience in an oil and gas environment.
